CLOTHING : As
temperatures vary greatly between day and night
(from 25 C to below 0 C) , it is best to wear
layers of warm clothing. Besides the normal
clothes, the following items are recommended
: down jackets, down pants, gloves, well worn
in walking shoes, woolen socks, sun hat, a raincoat
or a folding umbrella, woolen sweater , and
a light jacket with hood. All jewelleries is
best left at home, as no safe deposit boxes
are available in Tibet.
PHOTOGRAPHY : Still
cameras, home video cameras, and 8 mm movie
cameras are allowed into Tibet but special permission
is needed for 16 mm and 35 mm movie cameras.
INSURANCE : We
recommend that you insure yourself against sickness:
EMERGENCY RESCUE , accident , hospitalization,
cancellation etc as we accept no responsibility
for damages or expenses which may arise from
mishaps to persons or their belongings during
these pilgrimages.
MEDICINE AND HEALTH
: At present, no health certificates
or inoculations are required for entry into
Tibet. However, because of the rugged mountain
terrain, high altitude, and non availability
of good medicinal facilities, we require that
you be certified by your doctor to be medically
fit for high altitude travel.
It is advisable to carry the following medicines:
insect repellents, band – aids, throat
lozenges, anti –biotic ointment, aspirins,
sleeping pills and medication for body aches,
colds and anti-motion sickness. At altitudes
it is advisable not to exert oneself and to
drink plenty of fluids.
ACCERSSORIES:
We recommend that you bring the following items
to make your journey more comfortable.
Your personal first aid kit, toilet paper, Flashlight
with extra batteries, sun glasses, Notebook,
pens, pencils, Camera and film and extra batteries
for electronic cameras, Binoculars,
Duffel bag: Long(36 inches or so) heavy duty
canvas or nylon bag that can be secured with
padlock .Waterproof it by lining with a thick
plastic bag. Rain gear: Your raincoat should
be roomy and have a water proof hood.
Foot wears: Your hiking boots should have thick
soles and high enough to provide adequate ankle
support. a spare pair of thongs or sneakers
to wear in camp. Pocket Knife, sewing kit, Compass,
Altimeter, Drinking cup, Cigarette Lighter,
towel, Plastic bags (a few of each size-strong),
dust masks, Strong Sun cream and Chap stick,
Money Pouch or belts and
Water purification tablets.
Special Note :
ALTITUDE SICKNESS :
This is an environment related condition
that can effect anyone who ascends too rapidly
to high elevations without acclimatizing properly.
(suggest to read any book on Trekking which
has a chapter on this. If unable please let
us know and we shall furnish the same).
RESPONSIBILITY :
All arrangements within Tibet are solely at
the discretion of the China Tibet Tourism Bureau
(CTTB), a government organization, CTTB reserves
the right to change itineraries without advance
notice, depending on the weather and road conditions.
Currency: The unit of currency in Tibet is
Yuan. US$ 1= 8 Yuan. Indian Rupees 100 = Nepalese
Rs. 160 .Indian Rs. 100 = 20 Yuan approximately.
REFUND : If CTTB
does not operate a particular tour, a full refund
will be made of the tour and such refund will
absolve Nepal Sagarmatha Travels (P) Ltd. of
any responsibility.
PAYMENTS : A
50 percent deposit must be sent in advance before
the start of the trip in favour of ‘Nepal
SagarmathaTravels Pvt. Ltd.’Kathmandu
by Demand Draft or by telegraphic / electronic
bank transfer at the following bank account.
Full and final payment must reach us before
the client proceed for Tibet from Kathmandu.

Tour Cancellations: There
will be a cancellation fee of 30 % for any of
the cancellations made 20 days prior to Tour
departure date to Tibet, 50% for 14 days prior
to departure date and there will be no refund
there after. No refund for no shows and delay
arrivals from whatsoever reason.
